 GREAT WAYS TO SAVE MONEY

*Make your own laundry detergent - The average household spends approximately $70 per year on laundry detergent. I spend $6! For the recipe I use, go to my home page & type "soap" into the search box!

*Get signed up with Freecycle! You give away stuff you no longer want and you can get free things from other people who are giving items away! We have picked up school supplies, craft material, a fishtank, and more.

*Refurbish/Upcycle - Make your older things seem new, like I did with out old, green lampshades:
I used RIT Dye and a spray bottle to refurbish my old, green fabric lampshades!

I used 1 bottle of liquid RIT dye, mixed with about 2 cups of hot water and 1/4 cup of salt.
I stuffed plastic bags in the top of the shades to keep dye out of the underside of the shades and took them outside and sprayed the fabric with the dye solution. It was messy but the end product is fabulous. They look brand new!

*Get Organized!

One way to save money is to be organized. For instance, if your pantry is not organized you will buy things you already have. I went to www.abowlfulloflemons.com and got my pantry ORGANIZED!
